Research note: Rav of Alshad/Alsedziai from 1890; deported with the town's Jews to Geruliai on 8 Aug 1941 and murdered there 30 Aug 1941 with two daughters and their husbands. Oholei Shem gives his birth as 1862; the Russian savings-bank entries scatter it between 1851 and 1860.
